Power Lunch Series

Sweat. Eat. Learn. Join eight-time world record holder, Sean Burch, for the ultimate adventurer’s afternoon. Starting at 10:00 a.m., take part in an hour and a half group fitness class with workouts Burch customized to prepare him for a hike to the top of Mt. Everest. At noon, then indulge in a casual healthy lunch while hearing stories about Burch’s adventures and how you can better achieve your goals, no matter your fitness level. $160 per person, per session.

February 24 - Adventure Training 101

Body-weight functional training will be introduced in this class to prepare you for any adventure you've set for yourself. This session will provide functional strength training methodology and exercises that can be performed at home, at the gym, away on business, or any other environment. We will strengthen not only major muscle groups, but also the important supportive muscles of the body, ligaments, and tendons.  These areas are crucial to keeping a person functional, dynamic in movement, and injury free while on your adventures. 

March 24 - Body & Mind Performance Training

This session links the body and mind providing participants with the foundation methodology of functional strength and mental fortitude training you can carry to all aspects of your life outside the gym. A crucial addition to this session is the psychological aspect Sean interweaves within the physical workout, based on his over 25 years of martial arts training. Emphasis is on visualization and mantra exercises. These techniques, rigorously tested by Sean in-the-field, are used within the physical implementation of the session to complement your efforts, as well as to calm and focus your mind on the movements ahead throughout the duration of the session, and beyond.

Women's Wellness Weekend

Join us March 2-4 and learn about Yoga’s sister-science, Ayurveda, and its three elements: Earth, Fire and Air.

Each session is focused on an individual element, beginning with activity to represent that element and connect to the physical body, and ending with led discussions to connect with mind and spirit. Use this weekend to dive deeper into understanding the self, how to find balance of masculine/feminine within yourself, learn how to put self-care as a priority, and connect with other women to create a powerful support system. $45 per session; $84 for EquiSpective; $199 for all four sessions.


March 2 | 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The earth element, kapha, represents aspects of life that are grounded, even-paced, logical, nurturing, and reliable. Experience an all levels Yoga class that allows you to connect to this element through grounding Yoga postures and centering meditation. Afterward, join a discussion to understand more about bringing the quality of Earth into your life with a healthy-diet, exercise routines and general lifestyle practices.


March 3 | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The fire element, pitta, represents aspects of life that are passionate, energetic, quick-paced, hot, sharp and bright. Experience an all levels Pound class that uses lightly-weighted drumsticks in a full body, cardio workout, set to energetic rock music! Exciting and challenging, have a blast while getting a great workout and kick your Fire element into high gear. Afterward, join a discussion to understand more about bringing the quality of Fire into your life and how to ignite greater metabolic and digestive fire, exercise routines, and general lifestyle practices.


March 3 | 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | $84 per person
This unique self-discovery program unites horse and human with the ultimate goal of developing empowering tools and insightful awareness, regardless of one’s experience. Using an innovative hands on approach, participants connect with horses while exploring the effective use of intention (air), energy (fire) and action (earth).


March 4 | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The air element, vata, represents aspects of life that are creative, flexible, inspiring, spiritual, unpredictable and mobile. Begin with meditation that prepares you for a Spirit Hike on our wooded trails, also known as a silent walking meditation, in order to connect to the Air element. Afterward, join a discussion to understand more about bringing the quality of air into your life with a healthy-diet, exercise routines, and general lifestyle practices.

Two Years to the Top

There is no summit out of sight! Prepare for your own Mt. Everest climb with extreme athlete and motivational speaker, Sean Burch. As the first Virginian to summit Everest, Burch will dedicate two years to you and prepare you physically and mentally for the 29,035ft climb with Salamander Resort & Spa as your training ground.

Named “One of the World’s Top Extreme Adventurers” by National Geographic Society, you now have the chance to train for your own Mt. Everest climb with Sean Burch. Using Salamander Resort & Spa as your training grounds, you will stay at the resort for one week every six months as well as one weekend stay every month as you train, recover and push yourself to the limit with one-on-one training with Burch.

The Two Years to the Top training package starts at $260,000 per person will prepare anyone to climb to the top of Everest. The package includes:

  • Five one-week stays at SRS; one initially and then every six months after
  • 20 weekend stays at SRS; once a month until six month mark
  • Daily spa treatments while on-property; customized based on need
  • Daily cooking studio kitchen time for meal prep
  • Full access to pools, bike rentals, fitness center
