Now more than ever, it's important to care for yourself in order to take care of your loved ones. Salamander Spa has revised its treatment menu to include low-touch treatments, as well as a simplified selection of traditional treatments. In accordance with phase one of the Virginia reopening guidelines, facials, waxing, makeup and couples' massage services will not be available.

 

Body Treatment

This unique, Hamman-inspired therapy is a ritual of heat, steam and detoxification in a private ceramic chamber. Starting with a self-applied exfoliation, followed by a body mask used to soothe and hydrate the skin. The stimulating heat assists the absorption of the products into the skin, and an aromatic steam is released to purify the skin before moisturizing.

This is a self-applied service with no therapist present. A spa professional will instruct you through the process and leave you in private to experience this one of a kind treatment. Please note that this is a very warm service and not recommended for guests with heat sensitivity.

CBD Relief Massage

A unique treatment incorporating CBD oil, ideal for equestrian connoisseurs, focusing on releasing muscle tension and mobilizing the joints in affected areas.

Hot Stone Massage

90 minutes | $275

Basalt stones are used to combine heat and controlled pressure relieving deep-seated muscle tension. This healing and soothing treatment stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation to assist in eliminating lactic acid build-up.

Revitalizing Foot and Hand Massage | $85

An intensive scalp and neck massage with delicately layered notes of chamomile, lemon verbena, and hypnotic bee balm will soothe frayed nerves and promote the deepest sense of calm.

 WELLNESS AT HOME

Practice self-care with these at-home wellness tips from Salamander Spa.

 

BREATHE

Combat stress and anxiety with a simple breathing exercise. A few times a day, breathe in through your nose to a count of five, hold for a count of five, and exhale through your mouth to a count of seven. Repeat.

EXFOLIATE

Exfoliate your skin 3 times a week and follow this with a 30-minute soak in Epsom salts and essential oils.  This really helps to remineralize the skin and relax any sore and stiff muscles. For your face, a hot towel compress is a great substitute for steam. 

SCRUB

Add a body scrub in the shower at least 2-3 a week.  This is important to stimulate the new skin and cell generation and improve blood circulation.  
Try an easy homemade body scrub with two simple ingredients likely in your kitchen leaving your skin soft, smooth, and hydrated.

Coconut Body Scrub
Pure Unrefined Coconut Oil
Sugar
Use a 2:1 ration of sugar to coconut oil, mix together and place in a mason jar or sealed container.

Keeping up with never-ending family and work obligations can leave you dehydrated. Remember to use a water bottle and keep it with you throughout the day.
