FISHING POLE Rental | $10 per pole

Guests under the age of 16 or adults with Virginia issued Fishing License have the opportunity to rent our fishing poles and dip a line in our pond.

Beginner Fisherman | $35 per person

Spend the afternoon learning the basics of fishing in the Salamander pond, from selecting the right gear to casting fundamentals. Catch and release only. One hour program; ages 6-15 years old.

Camp Salamander

CAMP SALAMANDER

While the parents are away, the kids will play. Camp Salamander is our activity-filled camp for kids, offering countless opportunities to let loose, compete in scavenger hunts, learn about the stars and explore the great outdoors. 

  • Full day - $135 per child; 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Half day - $75 per child; 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Two hours - $50 per child; between 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Keeping Up With Cupcake

Meet and greet the newest (and sweetest) member of our team, Cupcake! Our friend may be little in size but this miniature horse has a big personality. Every Friday and Saturday at 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., she joins our team in the Living Room to greet our guests and welcome them to their home-away-from-home.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience presents the fascinating natural history, training, conservation and concerns about these majestic predators. Following a live demonstration of the training methods and an overview of the natural behavior of raptors, each participant has the opportunity to hold a live raptor on their arm for a wonderful photo opportunity as Falconry’s 4,000 year old history is revealed. ULTIMATE FALCONRY EXPERIENCE

Enjoy this off-site excursion to explore our surrounding area! Sky Meadows State Park is a 1,862-acre park in the Virginia state park system.
