Market Salamander was Sheila C. Johnson’s first foray into the hospitality industry. After moving to the Middleburg area, and years before the acclaimed Salamander Resort & Spa opened its doors, the founder and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts was drawn to purchase a former gun shop in the Village of Middleburg.

Curbside Pick-Up
Please call 540.687.8011 from 10am - 3pm to place your order and provide the make and model of your vehicle and provide a method of payment. Checks, credit cards, and cash will be accepted curbside. We also serve sodas, a variety of health drinks, hot coffee, wine and beer to-go.

To order, please contact our catering team at 540.687.9726. All weekend cake orders (Saturday through Sunday) must be submitted by 12:00 pm on Wednesday. All weekday (Monday through Friday) orders require a minimum of 72 hours advance notice.
Executive Chef Pete Smith
Jacksonville native, Chef Roderick "Pete" Smith graduated from the Southeast Institute of Culinary Arts in St. Augustine, Florida in 2000. At the age of 22, Pete became the Chef de Cuisine at Medure in Ponte Verda Beach, Florida, making him the youngest African-American chef to run a Forbes Four-Star, AAA Four-Diamond restaurant in Florida. Now with over 22 years of professional experience, Pete has been exposed to various areas of the culinary industry, including managing a gourmet food truck, Forbes Five-Star restaurants, and more. At Market Salamander, you will find many of Chef Pete's signature creations available at our Gourmet Grab & Go, including his bread pudding, hot sauce, and pickled vegetables.
