Recently it underwent a renovation enhancing the overall design, updating the kitchen concept, enhancing the menu, transforming the upstairs loft meeting space, and so much more to improve the relaxing ambiance of the destination.

Market Salamander was Sheila C. Johnson’s first foray into the hospitality industry. After moving to the Middleburg area, and years before the acclaimed Salamander Resort & Spa opened its doors, the founder and CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts was drawn to purchase a former gun shop in the Village of Middleburg. Upon entering, you are quietly reminded of the village markets scattered throughout the Italian Piedmont. Guests are welcomed by the wonderful aromas from our open kitchen, enticing you to sample our daily specials and signature items. The cuisine at Market Salamander features fresh, homegrown ingredients and exclusive recipes to enjoy sophistication of a modern gourmet market in an idyllic small-town setting.

Chef Reaves’ passion is to make your visions a reality. As you discuss your ideas in a personal interview, he takes your dream and sketches the vision. Jason will provide you and your guests with custom cakes and specialty desserts that will impress even the most discerning palate. From bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions to birthday parties, holiday cocktail-receptions and themed dinner events, Chef Jason and his team will capture your ideas down to the last detail perfectly.

A Northern Virginia native, Chef Reaves also runs Salamander Resort & Spa’s pastry Operations. He is a two-time Food Network winner for Food Network Challenge “Lego Cakes” and “King of Cones.”

Join us for a decadent four-course wine dinner. Each delicious course will be paired with selections from Walsh Family Winery in Loudoun County.
