Much more than a demonstration kitchen, this Cooking Studio is unique in that it opens directly into our kitchens.
Visiting Chefs can interact with the cooking studio guests while preparing full meals or select dishes. The Studio also offers a wide range of cooking classes for children and adults, and includes specialty cooking such as vegan, vegetarian, low-fat, and low sodium. The Studio is available for private dinner parties where you and your guests can participate or just watch the meal’s preparation while conversing with the chef. Enjoy a fabulous meal, then leave the cleanup of the kitchen and dishes to us.

January 10th | 2-4 pm - Sushi with Chef de Cuisine Chris Edwards
Get up close & personal with traditional techniques of sushi rolling - It's easier than you think! Chef Chris Edwards will show you how to choose the right piece of fish, steam your rice perfectly, and create the most delicious traditional and custom rolls.
January 17th | 2-4 pm - Pasta with Sous Chef JJ Kern
If you love fresh pasta but think you could never make it yourself, this class will change your mind. Chef JJ Kern demystifies the process, walking you step by step through techniques for making perfect dough every time. You'll practice hand rolling pasta and learn the secrets for drying and cooking it. Once you discover how easy it is to make fresh pasta at home, you'll want to say ciao to pre-packaged noodles forever.
February 7th | 2-4 pm - Chocolate Truffles with Pastry Chef Jason Reaves
Bring that special someone and learn how to make this delicious delicacy with our award-winning pastry chef. He’ll demonstrate (and you’ll practice) his techniques for the perfect chocolate truffle before enjoying your very own paired with a Virginia dessert wine.
February 21st | 2-4 pm - Southern Soul Cooking with Sous Chef James Lockley
Food from the south feeds the soul. Join Chef James Lockley and learn the secrets to true southern cooking in this informative yet delicious class where he’ll demonstrate (and you’ll taste) how to make the classics and other southern cuisine for you to replicate at home.
February 28th | 2-4 pm - Doughnuts 101 with Chef Jason Reaves
Can’t get enough of this sweet confectionary? Learn to make a new breakfast treat to enjoy together on a lazy Saturday morning. Our award-winning chef will teach you techniques for creating his favorite yeast doughnuts, cake doughnuts and baked doughnuts in this interactive & delicious class.
